Services for Individual and Families
Your growth, healing and well-being are our ultimate priority. Since 2000, Mary and Madeline have provided clients in New York City with a wide range of psychotherapy and diagnostic evaluation services to suit their needs.
Whether you’re an individual, a parent, a couple or a family looking for help – our therapy sessions and workshops are designed to assist you in your journey of growth and healing. We also offer individual and group therapy for youth and provide support to their families. For families with children suspected of developmental delays, Autism or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, we offer diagnostic evaluations.

Our team at Minette provides unconditional support and encouragement to help you and your family meet your goals and to overcome challenges. Understanding your situation without judgement and blame, we provide services and education around mental health conditions and/or your child's disability and strategies to help treat and address both.
We understand the struggles with trauma, both individual and generational, mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, poverty and stressors like finances, housing and family problems. We want to help overcome the struggles of our community collectively by treating each person we interact with at Minette with respect and dignity. We value cultural humility and our Latino, Black and LGBTQIA communities.
Personalized Attention for All Your Needs
After your sessions you will find yourself feeling listened to and supported. You will feel motivated to use strategies that we identified to help you manage your emotions and stress in a healthier way. You will also better understand some of the reasons that you are experiencing challenges at work, in intimate relationships or with your children or family members. We'll work to bring a new perspective to these issues. Give us a call and share what you have been going through lately. We know it is difficult to reach out and ask for help. No matter how challenging your situation may be, we are committed to being here for you week after week and being a safe space for you to be vulnerable, and to learn, change and grow.
Your first session at Minette Psychotherapy will be different from future visits. The initial visit is for you and your therapist to get to know each other and develop a plan for how to proceed. We start out by asking questions to better understand your current situation and your concerns. In the beginning, it’s recommended that you commit to at least one individual or group session per week in order to get accustomed to the therapeutic process and start working on your concerns. Every person is different, so the length of treatment depends on your goals, and the plan that you develop with your therapist. Therapy can be short-term, focusing on a specific problem, and to learn particular skills. It can also be more long-term addressing past issues (such as a history of trauma) or future goals for personal growth.
